Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense Essential Oil, known as the King of Oils, has been used for centuries in the Middle East. As an ingredient in the holy incense, it was used anciently during sacrificial ceremonies to help improve communication with the creator. Early Sumerians and Egyptians used frankincense for incense, stomach ailments, skincare and cosmetics. Today, it still forms the main ingredient in incense burned in Christian churches.

To this day frankincense continues to be treasured for its usefulness, with beneficial properties that make it a must-have essential oil to have on hand.

Aromatically, frankincense, with its rich, deep, warm, balsamic, sweet scent, stimulates the emotional center of the brain, soothing and calming the mind. Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. It may also help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands.

  • Eases hyperactivity & restlessness
  • Reduces irritability
  • Enhances spiritual awareness and meditation
  • Lifts mood and promotes a better attitude

Diffuse frankincense regularly in areas where you spend time, and consider keeping some with you in an aromatherapy pendant.

As a dietary supplement, Frankincense essential oil is approved by the FDA for use as a food additive and flavoring agent. Dilute one drop oil in 1 tsp raw honey or in 4 oz. of beverage. Frankincense may also be used sublingually. Take one drop under the tongue each day as a tonic to support overall wellbeing.

**Not for children under 6 years old; use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 and up. This oil should not be used during pregnancy.

    Frankincense for Chakra Balance

Frankincense assists in deep meditation and focus on the Brow Chakra. It promotes a feeling of relaxation and deepens awareness of the breath, helping to slow down and deepen breathing.

Frankincense is one of the important staple oils at our house. We love it! We diffuse it regularly, and I take one drop sublingually every day. I also use it in my homemade tooth powder, along with several other essential oils.

Several of our holistic body butters contain frankincense oil because of its amazing  properties and skin benefits. Click here to check them out now!
